I dreamt that I was a magician, and was meant to perform on a stage. Only I couldn’t see whether there were really any people in the audience at all. And the audience area was getting darker and darker, and I was becoming smaller and smaller, as though the theatre was expanding. All my rabbits were running around like crazy, and I couldn’t decide to start performing.
Of course the question is, do ghosts dream? Aren’t they supposed to be dreamlike themselves, isn’t dreaming reversing the whole thing?
Well of course they dream. They are, after all, in that realm, right in between ‘reality’ and dream, it would be quite unfair not to be touched by dream. Indeed, they are more touched by dream than by what is generally called reality. I mean, you cannot really throw a vase at them, can you? Well, you can, it just won’t register in any way in their ‘flesh’. (I do envy that. Malicious intent not hurting you). You will not as much as bruise them. You will not touch them.
They dream. They just don’t have to close their eyes.
And that is where the wall comes in, because, the problem is, other people’s dreams. Ghosts have a way of being haunted by other people’s wishes. I mean, really, instead of catching my rabbits, I was more concerned about who was watching. And what’s this about magic? I never liked tricks, nor hats (somehow, my head was always too big, I’d have to order the hat. And you can imagine if I had to also have a rabbit in there with my head).
